At The Block Northway the safety and well-being of our guests and employees is always our priority. We recognize the important role we play to help limit exposure to the coronavirus. To help slow the spread of COVID-19 and encourage social distancing, all non-life sustaining businesses are temporarily closed in accordance with the Governor’s mandate.
Most food tenants remain open but are taking precautionary measures by offering a to-go or carry out model and removing the option to dine-in to limit person to person contact. Aldi also remains open to serve our community along with PetSmart.
This decision has been done with a focus on wellbeing of our guests, employees and community, and it is in keeping with our commitment to be responsible during these unprecedented times.
It is hard to navigate the unknown, but as we continue to better understand how to slow the spread of COVID-19 we plan to do all we can to help keep our community safe.
Let’s weather this crisis together and support the efforts to do the right thing for the health and safety of our tenants, employees and guests. We look forward a time when we can re-open our stores, bring employees back together and welcome guests back to The Block Northway for a wonderful experience.
We understand that the increasing spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) is concerning and want to stress that, as we closely monitor the situation, we’re taking necessary precautions and preventive measures.
Like you, we are deeply concerned and want to do what we can to help keep our communities and our families safe and healthy. At The Block Northway, our number one priority is the health and safety of our guests and employees.
We want to assure you that we are monitoring the outbreak of the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). We are closely following guidelines and expert recommendations, including guidance from the World Health Organization (WHO), the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the Allegheny Health Department.
In addition to our standard cleaning procedures, we are taking additional precautionary steps to increase the frequency of the cleaning and disinfecting at The Block Northway. We’re also regularly providing restaurants and tenants with information on best practices and procedures as outlined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
These are some measures we are taking:
- Disinfecting high-touch hard surfaces throughout the mall, such as door handles, bathrooms, elevators, escalator handrails, etc.
- Enhancing deep cleaning in all high traffic areas.
- Increasing the deployment of anti-bacterial hand sanitizers within the center.
- Educating our staff and tenants on COVID-19 symptoms as well as preventative measures.
- Instructing employees to wash their hands a minimum of hourly, which has been proven by the CDC to be the most effective preventative measure.
- Recommending that those who are not feeling well to stay home to prevent the spread of germs.
Health and safety is all of our responsibilities. We encourage you to practice safety measures at home and when you’re out. Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds with soap and water frequently, cover your nose and mouth with a tissue or your elbow if you have to sneeze or cough, and please stay home if you are sick.
This situation continues to change rapidly, so we will remain vigilant, continue to monitor the situation and update our guests regularly. We are grateful for your loyalty and are committed to providing you with a great experience.
Thank you for your continued patience and loyalty.
