PITTSBURGH —– Beginning March 24 – 26, 2022 The Block Northway will host a small-scale Quilt Display provided by the North Pittsburgh Quilters Guild in the South Corridor Upper Level between DSW and Lands’ End.
One of NPQG’s main goals is to further the quilting skills and knowledge of its members. In pursuit of this goal, the guild sponsors workshops from nationally known quilters/teachers at least once a year. The types of classes offered range from mastering the quilting stitch to perfect piecing to innovative design concepts. In addition to workshops, NPQG also schedules lectures from local and national quilters during guild meetings throughout the year. The guild originated from 11 women meeting regularly at their homes to quilt. The group continued to grow, and they felt the need to locate to a larger space and incorporate a guild with rules. The first formal guild meeting was held on May 26, 1981, and the guild will be celebrating their 40th anniversary this June.
The current membership is approximately 100 and some of those original members are still around.
Display Hours are: Thursday, March 24th Noon – 2 p.m.
Friday, March 25th Noon – 2 p.m.
Saturday, March 26th 2 p.m. – 4 p.m.
