PITTSBURGH —– The Block Northway will hold their 6th Annual Kid’s Safety Event on Thursday, June 20th at the south corridor located between DSW and Lands’ End from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

“We are happy to partner with so many wonderful organizations,” said Jamie Pavlot, Director of Experience. “We invite families and friends to join us at The Block for this FREE fun and informative event.”

There will be Fire Trucks, EMS and Ross Township Police Vehicles, safety equipment and information provided by a variety of organizations. Enjoy face painting, balloon art, Paint Monkey, a chance to win amazing prizes and back by popular demand the Kiddie Kaboose Train Ride.

We are also collecting donations of cold or hot cereal items to help support the North Hills Cares Food Bank during our Kid’s Safety Event. Collections bins will be set up inside the South Corridor between Lands’ End and DSW. We ask everyone to please help support this worthy cause if you can and help combat food insecurity in our communities. Your donations of cold or hot cereal will help fill the shelves of local food pantries.

For every box of donated cereal or $5 donation, you can choose a coupon worth $5 or more from a local restaurant as a thank you! Together we can make a difference.

Potential participating organizations include the Allegheny County Fire Marshall, Be Smart, Berkeley Hills VFC, Every Child, Inc., North Hills Community Outreach, Berkeley Hills VFC, Perrysville VFC, Pittsburgh Poison Center, Ross – West View/EMS, Ross Township Police Department, Passavant Hospital Foundation, Crisis Center North, AHN and Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield.

The Block Northway will also feature a weekly Farmers Market, produced in partnership with I Made It Market. There will be a diverse collection of local vendors offering fresh, locally grown produce, fine spirits, flowers, unique hand-made gifts, food trucks and much more. Adults and kids alike will enjoy shopping this festive weekly happening.
