PITTSBURGH —– Beginning February 26th the West Perry Service Unit and North Rolling Hills of Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania will be at The Block Northway for their annual cookie booth sales event at the upper level, North Corridor Hallway near Marshall’s, Nordstrom Rack and Sak’s OFF 5th.
“We are always glad to welcome the Girl Scouts to The Block Northway for their annual cookie sales,” said Jamie Pavlot, Director of Experience.” “We support and celebrate this program to help benefit girls and their local council. We invite guests to stop by the Girl Scout Cookie Sales booth and help spark future female business leaders.”
Girl Scout cookie sales not only help Girl Scouts earn money for fun, educational activities, and community projects, but also play a huge role in transforming girls into G.I.R.L.s (Go-getters, Innovators, Risk-takers, Leaders) as they learn essential life skills that will stay with them forever. And while fun is part of the experience, giving back to our communities has been a hallmark of the Girl Scout Cookie Program since the first-known sale of cookies by Girl Scouts in 1917.
From the very beginning the Girl Scout Cookie Program – and Girl Scout cookies – has been the engine that powers Girl Scouts. The sale of Girl Scout Cookies has made an indelible impact on the millions of Girl Scout alumnae who have sold them. In fact, 57 percent of Girl Scout alumnae in business say the program was key in the development of their skills today. When girls participate in the Girl Scout Cookie Program, they get more than life-changing experiences and adventure. They also develop essential life skills – goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills and business ethics – all while soaring in confidence and practicing leadership the Girl Scout way to lift one another up and change the world, together.
